Minister Hoshyar Zebari met with Mr. Gill Bates, Director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute on Friday May 30th 2008, and discussed with him ways to start cooperation.
Minister Zebari expressed the Foreign Ministry's desire in developing the capacities of its staff through joint programs with this highly regarded Swedish institution. Minister Zebari explained the most important developments witnessed in Iraq in light of improved security and progress on the political understandings And confirmed the prevailing optimistic spirit and determination to move forward in building the new Iraq.
On his part Mr. Bates explained the most important activities of his institution and confirmed his pleasure to begin a new stage of cooperation with the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
